Periscope

Periscope is a simple optical device. It consists of two flat mirrors set in parallel. If you want to observe the whole horizon you must to turn your head with the periscope.

Light rays impinge the mirrors at 45° angle. The resulting image is virtual, straight and of the same size as the object.

Periscope is often used by submarines.
