The Celtic Stone The Celtic Stone

The gondola-shaped stone spins exclusively in left or right direction, and only one of them. If we try to rotate it clockwise it makes a couple of turns than it comes back.

Initially the stone possesses rotation kinetic energy; its specific geometry makes this energy turn into oscillation kinetic energy and then again into rotation energy. The stone is not perfectly symmetric and this makes its behaviour non symmetric either.

Something similar happens in the Universe: matter and anti-matter are perfectly symmetric or, we'd better say, almost perfectly. A small asymmetry - of charge and parity - make the time running only in one direction.
